With an easy win over Australia, Japan has qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2022 to be held in Qatar this year.
Japan defeated Australia 2-0 in the competitive match at ANZ Stadium Sydney on Thursday. Although both teams created some opportunities, Kaoru Mitoma, a substitute player, scored two goals to give Japan an easy victory at the end of the game.
Mitoma, who entered the field in place of Ao Tanaka in the 84th minute, scored a goal in the 89th minute to give Japan a 1-0 lead. Then in the fourth minute of added injury time, he scored the second goal for the individual and the team to secure a 2-0 win. Finally, Japan has been qualified for the world Cup 2022.
